The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Pune Rural, organised a ‘Yuva Nirdhar Melava’ (Youth Resolve Convention) in Jejuri, drawing an enthusiastic response from thousands of young participants and showcasing the organisation’s growing strength in the district.
The convention focused on youth-related issues, employment, education, skill development, government schemes and organisational expansion. Addressing the gathering, BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar spoke about the BJP’s organisational ideology and the opportunities available to grassroots workers.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party believes in the capabilities of its workers, not dynasty politics. A worker from an ordinary family can get an opportunity to rise to the highest responsibilities in the party and even reach the leadership of the country,” Padalkar said.
He cited the example of an ordinary worker from Bihar reaching the position of national party president and said that a young person from an ordinary family in a small village such as Padalkarwadi reaching the legislature demonstrated the strength of the BJP’s philosophy of providing opportunities based on merit and performance.
Referring to development initiatives undertaken in the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership since 2014, Padalkar highlighted the increase in airports, expansion of medical education and the opportunities created for youth from ordinary and Bahujan communities through education, skill development and various government initiatives.
“The responsibility of Yuva Morcha workers is significant. Bring promising young people from villages and marginalised and deprived sections into the organisation and provide them a platform. Study various government schemes and work to ensure that their benefits reach citizens at the grassroots level,” Padalkar appealed to the youth workers.
BJYM Pune Rural district president Vaibhav Solankar strongly criticised MLA Rohit Pawar during his address. “Instead of providing the right direction to address the problems of young people, efforts are being made to provoke them. Rather than inciting the youth, there is a need to empower them with employment, education and skills,” Solankar alleged.
“Youth are the strength of the nation. This strength must be channelled towards positive development. The primary responsibility of Yuva Morcha is to engage with young people in every village, understand their difficulties and help them access government schemes,” Solankar said.
BJP Pune Rural district president Shekhar Wadhane spoke about the party’s journey and its struggles over the years. He called upon workers to take the party’s ideology and organisational network to the grassroots and remain active in their respective villages to strengthen the organisation.
BJYM state president Krishnaraj Mahadik placed special emphasis on the issue of employment. “Information about various government schemes and initiatives must reach young people so that they can access employment opportunities. Merely formulating schemes is not enough; workers must take responsibility for ensuring that their benefits reach the last young person,” he said.
The gathering called upon every BJYM worker to remain active in villages and local communities, bring together people from all sections of society and work more aggressively on issues concerning the youth. The participants also resolved to further strengthen the BJYM organisation through the power of the youth.
The enthusiastic participation of thousands of young people at the Jejuri convention was presented by the organisers as a reflection of the growing organisational strength of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Pune district. In the presence of a large gathering of youth workers, a resolve was expressed to expand the organisation and intensify efforts on issues affecting young people.
