Maharashtra Legislative Council member Vikram Kakade is set to return to competitive shooting, with plans to participate in the National Shooting Championship scheduled to be held in New Delhi in November. He has already begun training in preparation for the national-level competition.
Shooting has long been one of Kakade’s favourite sporting pursuits. He had previously trained and practised regularly but was forced to take a break from the sport due to various public responsibilities. He has now taken up the sport again and resumed intensive practice for the upcoming championship.

Recently, Kakade visited a world-class Trap and Skeet Shooting Centre at Tembhurni, run by Yashwant Shinde, a national-level shooter and son of former MLA Sanjay Mama Shinde. Sanjay Mama Shinde warmly welcomed Kakade during the visit. Kakade also practised shooting at the facility, saying the experience brought back memories of his earlier association with the sport.
“Shooting is not merely a sport for me; it is a passion that I have cherished for many years. I had been away from it for some time, but I have now resumed training with renewed commitment. I will participate in the National Shooting Championship in Delhi in November. Alongside my responsibilities in public life, I am trying to reconnect with and pursue this long-standing passion,” Kakade said.
With the national championship approaching, Kakade has begun regular training, and the intensity of his practice is expected to increase over the coming weeks.
