PUNE, 9 NOV. There is joyful news for Pune residents. Air India Express has announced the launch of a direct flight service from Pune to Abu Dhabi, with the service set to begin soon. This decision comes as a response to the growing demand from Pune passengers for direct connectivity to Europe, the UAE, and other Gulf countries, a demand that has been increasing over time.
This new service will commence from December 2, which will accelerate international tourism for Pune residents. Three direct flights will depart from Pune to Abu Dhabi every week, eliminating the need for passengers traveling to the Gulf countries for work or tourism to take a transfer flight from Mumbai. This is a significant convenience for Gulf-bound travelers.
Flight Schedule (Timetable)
The Pune–Abu Dhabi direct flight service will be available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The flight from Pune will take off at 20:50 hrs (8:50 PM) and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 22:45 hrs (10:45 PM). For the return journey, the flight will depart from Abu Dhabi at 23:45 hrs (11:45 PM) and arrive in Pune at 04:15 hrs (4:15 AM) on the following day.
Nagpur-Bengaluru Flight Service
With the aim of enhancing air connectivity within Maharashtra, Air India Express has taken another important decision. Along with Pune, flights on the Nagpur–Bengaluru route will begin from December 1. There will be two daily flights on this route: the first flight will depart from Nagpur at 10:00 AM and arrive in Bengaluru at 12:05 PM, and the second flight will depart at 9:05 PM, reaching Bengaluru at 11:10 PM. The two return flights from Bengaluru will be at 7:25 AM (arriving in Nagpur at 9:30 AM) and 6:30 PM (arriving in Nagpur at 8:35 PM). With the addition of Nagpur, Air India Express has launched a total of five new stations in the last two months, bringing the number of destinations in the company's network to 60.
Direct Service to Begin Soon from Navi Mumbai
Furthermore, the company will soon begin weekly flight operations from the Navi Mumbai Airport, which will provide direct connectivity between Navi Mumbai and key centres like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. This decision to increase the presence of Air India Express across Maharashtra is expected to collectively boost air traffic in the state.
