Pothole-Free Road Campaign” Launched in Pune

PUNE, 4 NOV. With the aim of providing better facilities to citizens, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) launched a “Pothole-Free Road Campaign” on Monday. This campaign by the PMC's road department commenced on Monday, November 3, 2025, with the milling work on a severely damaged road stretch near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Udyan Gate, opposite Sanas Ground in Sarasbaug. Following the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) issued by the Municipal Corporation, the campaign was inaugurated by Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, in the presence of road department engineers, by carrying out asphalting and patchwork in the area.

According to the PMC, many areas of the city, especially in the central Peth regions, had their roads and footpaths dug up during the work for the CCTV project for the Pune Police. This has led to extremely poor conditions of roads and footpaths in many places, causing significant displeasure and dissatisfaction among citizens. Taking all these issues into consideration, the Pune Municipal Corporation has resolved to make the city completely pothole-free. The campaign was initiated today, and the work of repairing potholes will be carried out in all parts of the city by the end of November. The Municipal administration informed that some contractors have expressed their willingness to cooperate in this campaign on a "No-Profit, No-Loss" basis. The work has been started with their cooperation.
