Pune: In a significant development for the proposed international airport project in Purandar, the District Collectorate has put forth a comprehensive compensation package for the farmers whose land will be acquired. District Collector Jitendra Dudi shared the details in a meeting with representatives of the seven villages affected by the land acquisition.
The proposed package is designed to ensure fair compensation, transparency, and the protection of farmers' interests, aligning with the provisions of the 2013 Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act.
Key Compensation Highlights:

Cash Compensation: Farmers will receive ₹1 Crore per acre (One Crore Indian Rupees) as compensation for the acquired land.

Developed Plot (10%): Farmers will be allocated a 10% developed plot of the acquired land area for industrial, commercial, residential, or mixed-use purposes within the same area. The Collector assured that this plot would be a minimum of 100 square meters.

Aero City Residential Plot: If a project-affected family's house is acquired, they will be given a 250 square meter residential plot in the proposed Aero City at the compensation rate.

Double Value for Structures: Compensation will be double the value of existing structures, including houses, cattle sheds, fruit trees, wells, borewells, and water lines, on the acquired land.

Resettlement Grants:

A ₹40,000 grant will be provided for the relocation of the acquired house.

₹20,000 financial assistance will be given for the relocation of each cattle shed or animal shelter.

Support for Landless/Small Farmers:

Project-affected people who become landless will receive a lump sum cash payment equal to 760 days of minimum agricultural wages, disbursed in quarterly installments.

Those categorized as marginal (small) farmers will receive an amount equivalent to 500 days of minimum agricultural wages.

Job Priority and Training: One member of the project-affected family will be provided with training in one course at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and will receive priority in job opportunities based on their qualifications.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi confirmed that efforts would be made to ensure farmers receive maximum justice by positively considering their demands within the framework of government rules.
