Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has directed that the scientific biomining or bioremediation process on old (legacy) waste must be completed within one year to free up the concerned land. This cleared land can then be utilized for public utility projects or development plans.

Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has directed that the scientific biomining or bioremediation process on old (legacy) waste must be completed within one year to free up the concerned land. This cleared land can then be utilized for public utility projects or development plans. During his detailed inspection of the Uruli Devachi waste depot, the Commissioner stressed the need to increase the Pune Municipal Corporation's waste processing capacity to make waste management more efficient and sustainable in the city. He also issued instructions to modernize the waste transfer centers at Hadapsar and Ghole Road, create a modern system for vehicle-based door-to-door waste collection, establish smart collection centers, and expedite the work on the 'Waste to Energy' project. He affirmed the PMC's commitment to environmentally sustainable waste management and stated that further steps will be taken towards a clean and green Pune with the cooperation of its citizens.
