Social Activist Anjali Damania Attacks Over Bopodi Land Scam
Social activist Anjali Damania has demanded that Deputy Chief Minister and Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar resign from his posts in connection with the Bopodi land scam case. She has also demanded that an immediate case be filed against Parth Pawar.
PUNE, 12 NOV. Social activist Anjali Damania has demanded that Deputy Chief Minister and Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar resign from his posts in connection with the Bopodi land scam case. She has also demanded that an immediate case be filed against Parth Pawar.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, November 12, Damania stated that 5 out of 6 members of the inquiry committee investigating the Bopodi land scam are from Pune. She questioned whether the committee could conduct an impartial inquiry while Ajit Pawar holds the positions of Deputy CM and Guardian Minister, especially if the deal—despite involving ₹42 crore—is not cancelled.
Damania further argued that only the owner of the land or the buyer can cancel a land deal. However, Shivani Tejwani is not the owner of the property, and therefore, she does not have the authority to sign the Sale Deed on behalf of the Gaikwad family. According to law, Parth Pawar or his company also cannot cancel the purchase because they do not hold the rights to the land. She stressed that there is a formal process for cancelling such a deal.
She highlighted that an individual named Sheetal Tejwani had written a letter to the District Collector regarding this land, but the District Collector took no action. Damania demanded that the District Collector be immediately suspended. She equated the statement "we will cancel the deal" to "returning stolen goods." Damania concluded by saying that Parth Pawar holds a 99 percent partnership in the deal, while Digvijay Patil holds only 1 percent. Therefore, a case must be immediately registered against Parth Pawar as well.
