14th Consecutive Sai Palkhi Procession: Grand Event Organized Under the Initiative of Birju Mandhare!
Addiction awareness street play and devotional performances on Lord Narsinha, Balaji, and Kolhapur Goddess captivated devotees and marked the highlights of the celebration.

Continuing the tradition of devotion and social service, former Deputy Mayor Birju Mándhare once again organized the 14th consecutive Baramati-to-Shirdi Sai Palkhi Procession with great enthusiasm. The event began on Friday, October 24, with a grand inauguration ceremony.
Prominent personalities including former Mayor Subhash Somani, senior corporator Kiran Gujar, Bharati Mutha, Shubham Thombre, Aziz Shaikh, Dr. Saurabh Mutha, Sudhir Pansare, Satish Khude, Pramod Dimbale, Dhananjay Telange, and Shirdi dignitaries P. Madan Mokate, Rambhau Sonawane, Anil Aalwane, and Babusheth were present for the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Gujar said,
“Without any political motive, Birju Mándhare has continuously spread Sai Baba’s teachings and devoted himself to causes like addiction prevention, tree plantation, and social welfare. He is a true devotee and servant of Sai Baba.”
Bharati Mutha added,
“Through educational assistance to students, help to residents of Dr. Ambedkar Colony, and consistent social work, Birju Mándhare has truly embodied Sai Baba’s philosophy.”
Subhash Somani remarked,
“In the history of Baramati, organizing such a consistent annual foot pilgrimage to Shirdi is indeed an achievement deserving recognition, and full credit goes to Birju Mándhare.”
In his welcome address, Birju Mándhare said,
“The Sai Palkhi procession aims to unite people of all religions, castes, and communities, spreading spiritual harmony and collective joy.”

The event featured several captivating performances. Students of Dream of Drama presented a street play on addiction awareness, conveying a strong social message. The Hindu Raja Mahakal Group performed a powerful Tandav dance depicting Lord Shiva, while the Jay Bhawani Mandal, Kolhapur showcased grand tableaux of Lord Balaji and the Goddess of Kolhapur. The celebration was further enhanced by traditional sambal dance performances by local groups.
The event was hosted by Sai Chha Seva Trust, BM Group, Vastad Lahuji Salve Dahi Handi Mandal, Late Bhausaheb Mándhare Mitra Parivar, Shrihari Bhau Telange Mandal, and Jay Bhawani Mitra Mandal. The programme was compered by Anil Sawale, while Raju Mándhare offered the vote of thanks.
