Case Filed Against Organisers of ‘Satyacha Morcha’ for Holding Rally Without Police Permission!
MNS Slams Action
Mumbai, Correspondent
A case has been registered against the organizers of the Satyacha Morcha for allegedly holding the rally without police permission. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has strongly criticized the police action.
The Satyacha Morcha was organized jointly by the Maha Vikas Aghadi and the MNS to protest against alleged irregularities in the voter list, including bogus and duplicate registrations. Despite repeated requests, the police did not grant permission for the rally, which was held yesterday. Subsequently, a case was registered at the Azad Maidan Police Station for assembling an unlawful crowd.
Reacting sharply, MNS General Secretary Sandeep Deshpande questioned the selective action of the police.
“Yesterday, the BJP also organized a silent march. If cases are being filed against us, why not against them? Did they have police permission? If they were granted permission, why were we denied it?” Deshpande asked.
He further stated that several similar cases have already been registered against him and his party in the past, and such actions would not intimidate them.
