Advocate Gunaratan Sadavarte Demands Raj Thackeray’s Arrest Ahead of “Satyacha Morcha”
Mumbai, Correspondent
Advocate Gunaratan Sadavarte has demanded the arrest of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray ahead of the “Satyacha Morcha,” organized to protest alleged irregularities in the voters’ list.
Raj Thackeray has taken an aggressive stand, declaring that elections should not be held until the voter lists are corrected. He has also strongly opposed the state government’s decision to set up NaMo Tourism Centres at various forts across Maharashtra.
Thackeray reportedly instructed his party workers to demolish such centres if they are built, alleging that they are being established merely to please Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Expressing concern, Advocate Sadavarte stated that such provocative remarks could incite violence.
Congress Takes a Cautious Stand on the Morcha
Raj Thackeray has been vocal from the beginning about the alleged voter list scam, making it natural for him to lead the Satyacha Morcha. However, given the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar and Thackeray’s history of opposing non-Marathi migrants, the Congress party is wary of aligning too closely with him.
Although Congress legislative party leader Vijay Wadettiwar has announced that the party will join the march, sources suggest that only a few selected Congress leaders are likely to participate, reflecting the party’s cautious approach.
