Amedia Enterprises Accused of Duping Pune District Administration
A major land fraud case has come to light in Pune, where Amedia Enterprises, a company associated with Parth Pawar, is being investigated for allegedly defrauding the District Administration of ₹147 crore in a scheme related to the purchase of government land in Mundhwa.
PUNE, 13 NOV. A major land fraud case has come to light in Pune, where Amedia Enterprises, a company associated with Parth Pawar, is being investigated for allegedly defrauding the District Administration of ₹147 crore in a scheme related to the purchase of government land in Mundhwa.
The core of the scam involves the mandatory 'Nazrana' (premium or donation) required for the legal purchase of certain government lands. According to legal provisions, if government land can be purchased legally, the buyer must pay a 'Nazrana' equivalent to 50% of the land's price to execute the final sale deed.
However, Amedia Enterprises is accused of attempting to deceive the District Administration by submitting a letter falsely claiming that the required ₹147 crore Nazrana for the Mundhwa land had been paid, when it had not. The attempt at deception was uncovered when the District Administration grew suspicious of the document and forwarded it for verification to Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, who is now also implicated in the matter.
Further investigation revealed severe irregularities in the entire transaction. The land in question has been under the ownership of the State Government, specifically the Agriculture College, since 1955, and is categorized as Inam Class 2F land. Crucially, the 'Other Rights' section of the land's official 7/12 extract still displayed the names of the original landlords. This loophole was allegedly exploited to carry out the transaction, completely bypassing established government rules and misleading the state authorities.
A case has been officially registered against Pune City Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, along with Amedia Enterprises partners Digvijay Patil and power-of-attorney holder Sheetal Tejwani. Social activist Anjali Damania also addressed the media, reinforcing the allegation that Amedia had submitted the letter to the Collector's office claiming payment, reportedly attaching a Demand Draft (DD) to substantiate the false claim. Police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
