A grand tribute rally was held in Pandharpur marking the 139th birth anniversary of Padma Bhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, celebrating his educational vision and social reform work. Organised jointly by the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Empowered Autonomous College and Yashwant Vidyalaya of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha in Pandharpur, the rally saw large-scale participation from students, teachers, non-teaching staff, alumni, and citizens.
At the start of the rally, dignitaries along with office-bearers of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha garlanded the full statue of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil in tribute. The rally began in the presence of general body members of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha and Principal Dr. B. T. Jadhav.
Students from the college's NCC, NSS, and the Arts, Commerce, Science, and Computer Science streams took part in the rally. A cymbal troupe of girl students performed to the beat of dhol-tasha, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, while traditional martial arts demonstrations — including lathi-kathi, dandpatta, and swordsmanship — were also presented.
A chariot decorated with flowers carried a portrait of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. Placards held by the participating students conveyed information about Karmaveer's educational work and the social and educational contributions of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Loudspeakers recounted Karmaveer's life of struggle, his philosophy of 'Earn and Learn,' and his efforts to bring students from marginalised, deprived, and backward communities into the fold of education.
The rally's central aim was to carry forward, to the new generation, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil's struggle for the spread of education, the inspiration he gave students through 'Earn and Learn,' and his mission of taking education to the underprivileged sections of society.
Professors, teachers, non-teaching staff, and students of the college worked hard to make the rally a success. Refreshments and drinking water were distributed to the participating students. The Pandharpur Municipal Council and city police administration extended cooperation for the rally. The rally, which reaffirmed Karmaveer's ideals and the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's contribution to social development, concluded amid an enthusiastic atmosphere.
