Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram Vows Impartial Action
Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram has warned that action will be taken against officials, no matter how high their rank, for substandard road work. This follows the suspension of two engineers for poor quality roads in Warje.
PUNE, 21 NOV. In response to the construction of substandard roads in the Warje area, Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram suspended two engineers. However, the engineers' association is reportedly putting pressure on the Commissioner to revoke the suspensions. Addressing this, the Commissioner has issued a stern warning, stating that quality work must be ensured, especially while the 'Pothole-Free Campaign' is underway. He firmly declared that if the work is not done properly, he will take action against anyone involved, regardless of how senior the officer is.
The Commissioner's firm stand comes amid increasing public dissatisfaction with the quality of city roads. The suspension of the two engineers was a decisive move, but the subsequent pressure from the engineers' union highlights the internal challenges the administration faces in enforcing standards. Commissioner Ram's warning makes it clear that accountability for shoddy road work will extend beyond just junior engineers and contractors, emphasizing that high-ranking officers and anyone attempting to compromise the quality of civic infrastructure will be dealt with strictly and impartially.
