Baramati Taluka Police have successfully cracked the case of theft and housebreaking at the Jagdamba Hotel located on Bhigwan Road in Wanjariwadi village. Four suspects from Bhor have been arrested in connection with the incident. Investigations have also revealed that the same accused were involved in other thefts in the Baramati and Neera areas.
According to police sources, between 11 p.m. on October 16 and 7 a.m. on October 17, unidentified burglars broke the lock of Jagdamba Hotel’s entrance and entered the premises. They stole a mobile phone worth ₹32,000 and some cash. Following the incident, hotel owner Vijay Mohite lodged a complaint at the Baramati Taluka Police Station.
Under the guidance of Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Yadav, a special investigation team was formed. Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended Anil Sunil Nikam and Ganesh Madhu Nikam — both residents of Vadgaon Dal, Bhor taluka, Pune district. During interrogation, the duo revealed the names of their accomplices — Ravi Mangesh Jadhav and Ravi Bandu Thorat, both residents of Mhatobanagar, Mulshi, currently residing at Rui, Indapur taluka.
A police team later conducted a raid at Rui and took the two men into custody. During questioning, all four confessed to the theft. Police recovered seven mobile phones of various brands and ₹1,050 in cash from their possession. Officials believe more stolen property may be recovered as the investigation continues.
This operation was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Additional SP Ganesh Biradar, and Sub-Divisional Officer Sudarshan Rathod, with the active involvement of Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Yadav and team members Dadasaheb Darade, Surendra Wagh, Kishor Veer, Bharat Khartode, and Nilesh Wakle.
