n a significant achievement for academic research, the Government of India has granted a patent for an innovative and efficient device-based method for screening biological activity against bacterial, viral, cancer, and tuberculosis-related diseases. The patented technology has been developed by Prof. (Dr.) Dnyandev Zambare, former Vice Principal, former Head of the Department of Chemistry, and current Research Guide at Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya, Wai; Prof. Mrs. Deepali Patil, Head of the Department of Chemistry; and Dr. Sandeep Wategaonkar, Research Director.
The research project also involved valuable contributions from Prof. Sushenrao Patil of Shriram Shikshan Sanstha, Paniw, and Dr. Chandrashekhar Mane, Research Guide at Lal Bahadur Shastri College, Satara, whose guidance played an important role in the successful completion of the study.
Speaking about the achievement, Dr. Dnyandev Zambare said that the patented technology will serve as an effective tool for researchers worldwide in addressing the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance. The device has been designed to provide rapid and accurate evaluation of biological activity, making it a valuable innovation for scientific research. He added that the patent is expected to accelerate the development of new pharmaceutical compounds and significantly benefit the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
Prof. Deepali Patil explained that the research focuses on carbohydrate-based heteroconjugates developed as nanomaterials, whose biological activity can be effectively evaluated using the patented device. She acknowledged the support and guidance received from her mentors, the college, and the institution in carrying out the research.
Congratulating the research team, Principal Dr. Gurunath Fagre said that the patent is a matter of pride for the college and reflects its commitment to academic excellence and innovative research. He expressed confidence that this accomplishment would inspire researchers and students to pursue advanced scientific innovations.
The achievement has been widely appreciated by the management of Janata Shikshan Sanstha, including President Madandada Bhosale, Vice President Shankarrao Gadhave, Secretary Dr. Jaywant Chaudhari, Treasurer Narayanrao Chaudhari, members of the governing body, Vice Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Veer, faculty members, administrative staff, and non-teaching employees, all of whom extended their congratulations to the research team.
