Capt Ameridar Singh, who stepped down as Punjab Chief Minister on the grounds of no confidence in the Congress party, has been invited by Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Republican Party (A) Chief Ramdas Athavale to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Leave the Congress that has insulted you and come to NDA . "Your entry in NDA  will be the game changer in the Punjab elections," Athavale told Capt Amarinder Singh. Athavale also supported Capt Amarinder Singh's statement that Punjab Congress president Navjyot Singh Sidhu is anti-national.

Amarinder Singh has been insulted by the Congress party. "Captain Singh should not stay in that party now," Athavale told News Agency. He said that if Capt Amarinder Singh joined the NDA, it could be of great help in forming a non-Congress government in Punjab.
