Pune, June 25

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the state government is committed to strengthening education, skill development, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for youth from the Maratha community, highlighting the significant contribution of the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI).

Addressing a felicitation ceremony for candidates who successfully cleared the UPSC, MPSC and other competitive examinations through SARTHI's support, Fadnavis said the institute has helped 140 candidates clear the UPSC, over 1,100 succeed in the MPSC, and more than 500 secure jobs in the banking sector. He added that over 13,000 youth have become employable through skill development programmes, while more than two lakh students have benefited from SARTHI's training initiatives.

The Chief Minister said the government has introduced several measures to support economically weaker students, including a 50 per cent fee concession for professional education, hostel facilities, and financial assistance of up to ₹60,000 under the Bhausaheb Punjabrao Deshmukh allowance scheme. He also highlighted support for entrepreneurship through the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation.

Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar described SARTHI as a powerful movement for social transformation and youth empowerment, stating that the government would continue providing adequate funding for all its schemes. She urged successful candidates to serve society with integrity and extend support to future generations of students.
