“To succeed in life, students must have strong roots in values and traditions while spreading their wings to pursue their dreams. Stay hungry to learn and remain humble. As long as the desire to learn remains alive within you, no one can stop your progress,” said Rajesh Damani, Founder and Managing Director of Jamshree Realty. Damani was speaking as the chief guest at ‘Vishwarambh 2026’, the induction ceremony organised by MIT Vishwaprayaag University, Solapur, to welcome students admitted for the new academic year.
The programme was organised under the blessings of Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, Founder President of MAEER’s MIT and the guidance of Prof. Swati Karad Chate, Executive President of MIT Vishwaprayaag University. The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Puja in the presence of Ankit Damani, Vice President, Jamshree Realty; Vice Chancellor Prof. Gopalkrishna Joshi, Registrar Pranesh Murnal, Prof. Anant Chakradev, Prof. Prabha Kasliwal and Deans of various academic schools.
Appreciating the University’s labs and design centre, Damani urged students to move beyond textbook-based learning and make the most of hands-on educational opportunities. “Do not depend solely on bookish knowledge. Give importance to practical learnings, do not be afraid of making mistakes and turn those mistakes into stepping stones for progress,” he said. He also encouraged students to reduce their daily screen time and develop a reading habit.
Speaking about MAEER’s MIT’s value-based educational tradition, Vice Chancellor Prof. Gopalkrishna Joshi said students should not merely chase marks but prepare themselves for the larger challenges of life. “Students must focus on innovation, skill development and problem-solving and prepare themselves for the real examination of life, rather than simply pursuing grades,” he said.
Drawing an analogy between the university and the flow of the Ganga, Prof. Joshi said that students’ thirst for knowledge and motivation to learn are the vessels with which they must enter the river of knowledge. He also underlined the importance of collaboration between parents and the university in ensuring students’ holistic development. He urged parents to remain in regular contact with the university and, more importantly, to maintain daily communication with their children.
At the beginning Ankit Damani spoke about the journey of the Jamshree Group and its transformation over the years in response to changing times and emerging opportunities.
During introductory remarks Registrar Pranesh Murnal familiarised the new students with the university’s philosophy, values, academic approach and the diverse opportunities available to them. The MIT Vishwaprayaag University extended a warm welcome to the newly admitted students and conveyed its best wishes for their academic journey and future success. The induction ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from newly admitted students and their parents.
