Emergency use of a vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson, which completes corona preventive vaccination in a single dose, is permitted in India. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavia tweeted this information.

The company had recently filed an application with the Government of India seeking permission for emergency  use of the vaccine. Noticing this, the vaccine has been approved immediately. Earlier on Monday, a company spokesperson told mediapersons that the company was committed to making the vaccine available in India in a single dose and was in talks with the central government.

The new vaccine is available in India at a time when there is a shortage of vaccines in India and the ambitious and necessary campaign for vaccination is in trouble. Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be distributed in India on behalf of a local company, Biological E Limited.
