State Public Health Minister Prakash Abitkar on Saturday said the government is focusing on providing quality healthcare services and facilities to citizens free of cost or at affordable rates.
Abitkar, who is also the district guardian minister, was speaking after inaugurating new medical facilities at Seva Hospital in Kasba Bavada, Kolhapur.
He said efforts are being made to provide quality healthcare services to every citizen through government hospitals and strengthen public trust in these facilities.
The government is striving to ensure access to quality and free healthcare for the common people through the effective utilisation of available funds, he said.
A health communication tour was being launched to review healthcare services across the state, he added.
He added that a dedicated mobile application had been introduced to enable citizens to lodge online complaints regarding shortcomings in healthcare services.
The Health Department is working to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives through public participation.
