Senior Congress leader Nana Patole launched a scathing attack on the ruling dispensation, openly accusing the Devendra Fadnavis government of hiding critical information regarding the high-profile accident and questioning the conspicuous silence of the 40 ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs and 9 ministers aligned with Sunetra Pawar's faction.
Condemning the state administration, leaders have expressed profound anguish that despite a sitting deputy chief minister losing his life in a massive tragedy, local authorities have failed to register a formal First Information Report. Following persistent questions raised by MP Supriya Sule and MLA Rohit Pawar-who even pursued a 'Zero FIR' outside the state-the Congress has stepped in to amplify demands for a transparent, time-bound judicial or independent inquiry.
Patole cast strong suspicion over the ruling faction's lawmakers, pointing out that despite being part of the government coalition, none of the 40 MLAs or 9 ministers have uttered a single word or demanded a formal police probe into the incident.
