Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government will provide free smartphones and tabs to 1 crore youth for the technical empowerment of the youth in the state. Yogi clarified that the government has approved Rs 3,000 crore for this project.

During the Corona pandemic, most educational institutions have continued their courses online. So young people have no choice but to use digital devices. With this in mind, smartphones and tabs will be made available to urban and rural youth in the state, Yogi told reporters after the cabinet meeting.

Assembly elections are being held in the state next year. Leaders of all parties have started blowing the trumpet of this election campaign. Yogi Adityanath is no exception. The announcement by Yogi, who is facing hidden opposition from his own party, to provide free smartphones and tabs to 1 crore youths may be part of his efforts to please the new voters.
