Drought, Water and Fodder Issues Remain Top Priority; Supriya Sule to Participate in Delhi Protest
Pawar was speaking at a press conference held on Sunday, November 1, at his residence, Govind Baug, in Malegaon, Baramati taluka.
Opposition parties have taken an aggressive stand over the functioning of the Chief Election Commissioner and have organised a protest at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi under the banner of the INDIA bloc, demanding his resignation. Questions have been raised by opposition leaders regarding transparency in the electoral process and the functioning of the Election Commission. Pawar said leaders from various opposition parties were coming together against this backdrop.
Meanwhile, Pawar expressed concern over the worsening drought situation in Maharashtra, highlighting the growing challenges related to drinking water and fodder for livestock in several regions. He said his immediate focus was on addressing the problems faced by drought-affected communities.
He emphasised the need to provide relief to farmers and rural residents struggling with the drought situation, particularly in areas facing severe shortages of water and animal fodder.
While the political atmosphere at the national level remains charged over the Election Commission issue, the worsening drought situation has emerged as a major challenge for rural Maharashtra. Against this backdrop, Pawar reiterated that water scarcity, fodder availability and drought relief would remain his immediate priorities.
