Bhor Will Not Face Any Shortage of Development Funds: MLA Mandekar!
Citizens voice grievances at first-ever Janata Darbar in Bhor; MLA issues stern warnings to officials
Bhor, Rupesh Jadhav
“For Bhor’s development, I will ensure that adequate funds are made available through the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar,” assured MLA Shankar Mandekar. He was addressing citizens during the first-ever Janata Darbar organised at the municipal council hall on Sunday (28th).
Listening to a barrage of complaints from residents, MLA Mandekar reprimanded concerned officials in strong words and directed them to resolve issues without delay.
The programme was attended by Sub-Divisional Officer Dr. Vikas Kharat, Dr. Mahesh Gude, Taluka Medical Officer Dr. Abhay Tidke, MSEDCL officer Avinash Waghmare, Municipal Chief Officer Gajanan Shinde, as well as officials from the PWD, police, agriculture, excise, land records, and panchayat samiti.
Citizens’ Long List of Complaints
Residents raised issues such as irregular water supply, illegal water connections, poor maintenance of the Shankarihills water project, rising encroachments, traffic congestion, illegal constructions, stray dog menace, non-functional streetlights, and unsanitary conditions in several areas.
Complaints were also made against MSEDCL, citing frequent power cuts and lack of timely response from staff. Citizens alleged that electricity often failed when water supply was scheduled, creating daily hardships.
Other grievances included non-availability of essential medicines at the government hospital, long waits to meet doctors, lack of housing and ration benefits, unclean public drains, malfunctioning CCTV cameras, depositors awaiting refunds from local credit societies, and pending dues of retired sugar factory workers.
MLA’s Stern Instructions
Mandekar issued strict instructions to MSEDCL officials and water supply contractors to improve services immediately. He directed that water be supplied daily on time and frequent power disruptions be avoided. He further warned that negligence in addressing complaints would not be tolerated.
The MLA informed that funds worth ₹37 lakh have already been allocated for development works and that the revised drinking water supply proposal has been sent for approval. “In future too, whatever problems arise, I will ensure they are resolved. There will be no shortage of funds for Bhor’s development,” he assured.
Poor Planning, Citizens Inconvenienced
The Janata Darbar drew large crowds after publicity through handbills and rickshaw announcements. However, with only 60–70 seats available in the hall, many citizens were left standing outside or caught in the rush inside. The overcrowding led to chaos, shouting, and inconvenience, leaving several citizens unable to present their grievances properly.
Political Buzz
In Bhor town, the event has also sparked discussions that the Janata Darbar was strategically organised with an eye on the upcoming municipal elections.
