Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the opposition to task for tearing up documents in Parliament and throwing pieces in the air, making rude remarks on the process of passing the bill. He criticized the behavior of the opposition as an insult to Parliament, the Constitution and the people.
Modi was speaking at a Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentary party meeting. On this occasion, Modi was congratulated for giving reservation to OBC and economically backward students in medical courses.

The Prime Minister expressed his indignation over the remarks. "Similarly, snatching documents, tearing them up and then apologizing is a manifestation of ego in the opposition," Modi said.
While replying to the Pegasus case, Trinamool Congress MP Shantanu Sen snatched a written copy of the reply from Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and threw it away. Sen was therefore suspended during the session. Due to the uproar over Pegasus issue and the new agricultural laws, the proceedings of parliament monsoon session couldn't be completed for a single day in a two-week period.
