Praja Shanti Party President Dr K A Paul on Thursday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Home Minister Amit Shah to withdraw the proposed Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment (FCRA) Bill, claiming it could adversely affect India's economy, foreign investment and global image.

In a video statement, Paul alleged that the proposed legislation would discourage international investment in India and negatively impact the country's GDP, employment opportunities and economic growth. He claimed the Bill would draw opposition from political leaders and governments across the world and urged the Centre to reconsider the move.

Paul also alleged that the legislation could affect institutions involved in education and healthcare that receive foreign contributions. He warned that if the Bill is passed, it could result in reduced investor confidence and discourage multinational companies from expanding operations in India.

Referring to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Paul urged Prime Minister Modi to adopt a moderate approach and withdraw the proposed legislation. He claimed that India's global reputation and economic prospects could be affected if the Bill is enacted.

The Praja Shanti Party chief further appealed to political parties, youth and citizens to raise awareness about the issue and urged the Prime Minister to hold discussions with stakeholders before proceeding with the proposed amendments. He said he was willing to meet the Prime Minister personally to explain his concerns and discuss possible alternatives.
