Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) had filed a petition demanding a ban on the CAA law. Now the Supreme Court will hear the petition of IUML on March 19. IUML has said in the petition that the CAA law is unconstitutional and discriminatory against Muslims. IUML claims that the provisions of the CAA law are arbitrary and give unfair advantage to a section on the basis of religious identity alone, which is a violation of Articles 14 and 15 of the Constitution. IUML has demanded an early hearing on the petition saying that if citizenship is given to someone according to the law, then it cannot be taken back.</p>
<p><strong>Petition filed against EVM rejected by Supreme Court</strong></p>
<p>The Supreme Court rejected the petition claiming alleged malfunction in EVMs. The Supreme Court rejected the petition on Friday, saying that every process has its own advantages and disadvantages. The bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Augustine George Masih said that 'the court has already heard petitions related to the functioning of EVMs and how many more petitions will have to be heard? Recently we heard the petition related to VVPAT. We cannot work on guesswork alone. We cannot hear the petition under Article 32 of the Constitution and dismiss it.</p>
<p><strong>Hearing on K Kavitha's petition against ED summons adjourned till March 19</strong></p>
<p>The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing till March 19 on the petition filed by BRS leader K Kavita against ED summons in the Delhi Liquor Policy case.</p>
<p><strong>Abhishek Banerjee's petition will be heard on March 19</strong></p>
<p>The Supreme Court will hear the petition of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee on March 19. Abhishek Banerjee has filed this petition against the summons of ED in the matter of recruitments in West Bengal.</p>
