PUNE, 7 NOV. The political temperature in Pune and across the state is soaring due to the ongoing land scam revelations. On one hand, the political pressure on Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his son, Parth Pawar, is mounting, while on the other, various political parties and organizations are targeting the NCP and the entire Mahayuti government over the alleged land grab. Political and social organizations in the city are demanding a fair and thorough investigation into the matter.

Organizations have raised the pointed question: "Has a case not been filed against Parth Pawar simply because he is the son of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar?" It has been revealed that Parth Pawar’s company, Amedia Holdings, holds a 99% stake in the land transactions in the Mundhwa and Bopodi areas. Serious questions are being raised about the land dealings of this company. The organizations argue that "it is not appropriate to exclude Parth Pawar from the investigation when action is being taken against other individuals involved in the scam." They have demanded that a criminal case be filed against Parth Pawar and that the entire matter be investigated by an independent agency.

Opposition Stages Road Blockade Protest

The news that Parth Pawar purchased a 40-acre Mahar Watan plot in Pune's Koregaon Park, valued at ₹1,800 crore, for just ₹300 crore has caused a massive stir. Leaders of opposition parties have demanded that Ajit Pawar resign from his posts as Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister until the investigation is complete. Amidst these developments, two officers connected to the case have been suspended, and a case has been filed against three individuals. Various opposition parties staged a 'Rasta Roko' (Road Blockade) protest on Friday to protest the issue.

Demand for Ajit Pawar's Resignation and Criminal Action Against Parth Pawar

There is intense public anger in the city regarding the increasing number of land scams. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest outside the District Collector's office on Friday against these alleged scams. The party claimed that the state's revenue was also damaged during the land transactions. AAP also targeted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the protest, stating he has completely failed to curb corruption in the state. Citing recent allegations against Pune's MP and Union Minister regarding the grabbing of Jain Boarding land, the party asserted that the Mahayuti government is preoccupied with corruption. AAP, through the District Collector, demanded Ajit Pawar's immediate resignation to prevent his influence on the investigation, and also demanded criminal action against Parth Pawar.

Key Player Sheetal Tejwani is Allegedly a Habitual Conspirator

Shocking information has surfaced about Sheetal Tejwani, who sold the land to Parth Pawar's Amedia company (where Parth holds a 99% share). Sheetal Tejwani's role is considered crucial in the ₹1,800 crore Koregaon Park land deal. This plot was previously under the jurisdiction of the Botanical Survey of India (BSI). To free up and sell this government-occupied 'Mahar Watan' land, Sheetal Tejwani allegedly implemented a cunning plan. She reportedly tracked down the original 272 owners and, by paying them only ₹10 to ₹15 thousand, obtained an unrevocable Power of Attorney (PoA) in her name. According to the police, Sheetal masterminded this entire scheme. The land was purchased by Amedia Enterprises, whose partners are Parth Pawar and his maternal cousin, Digvijay Patil.

"Will the CM Seek the Deputy CM's Resignation?"

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has fiercely attacked the Maharashtra government over the "Mahar Watan Land" scam unearthed in Pune, the state's cultural capital. Dr. Hulgesh Chalwadi, BSP State General Secretary and West Maharashtra Zone Chief, stated on Friday, November 7, that "Parth Pawar and those who colluded with him carried out an illegal land deal. Therefore, a case under the Atrocities Act should be filed against all of them, and they should be immediately arrested." He also demanded that the disputed land deal be cancelled and the land be returned to the original owners.

Questions Over Parth Pawar's Company

The 40-acre plot in Mundhwa, which is government-owned 'Mahar Watan' land and reserved for the Botanical Garden, is also allegedly involved in an illegal land deal. In this regard, Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sanjay More has demanded that the government and administration file a criminal case for Phaswanuk (cheating/fraud) against the concerned individuals.

Police Seize Documents

Following the registration of a case at the Bawdhan Police Station regarding the land transaction scam in the Koregaon Park area, the Bawdhan police conducted a Panchnama (spot inspection) at the Sub-Registrar's office in Pashan on Friday, November 7. All registered papers have been seized for investigation. However, no arrests have been made in the case so far. The political turmoil was triggered by the revelation that Parth Pawar’s company, Amedia Enterprises LLP, acquired the 40-acre Mahar Watan land, valued at ₹1,800 crore, for just ₹300 crore.
