PUNE, 7 NOV. The Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNS-V) launched an aggressive protest on Friday, November 7, against the widespread unhygienic conditions at the mess and general filth in the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Girls' Hostel. During the protest, MNS-V activists handed the Hostel Rector a plate containing cockroaches, expressing severe displeasure with the administration.

A few days ago, cockroaches, flies, and even a stapler pin were reportedly found in the food served to students in the COEP Girls' Hostel mess. This incident sparked outrage among the female students. It is alleged that despite continuous complaints, the mess management and the warden failed to take any action.

Sachin Pawar, Rupesh Gholap, Abhishek Thite, Sarang Saraf, Parikshit Shirole, Vikrant Bhilare, Ashutosh Mane, Santosh Ware, and other office bearers were present at the protest.

The Ultimatum

The protest, led by MNS-V City President Dhananjay Dalvi and Department Head Ketan Dongre, demanded the immediate resolution of all student complaints. The hostel administration has been given a 72-hour ultimatum. MNS-V warned the college administration that if clean mess food, 24x7 water and electricity, stable Wi-Fi, cleanliness, and necessary repair work are not ensured, the college administration will have to face "inconvenience."
