The Rashtriya Samaj Party (RSP) will contest upcoming local body elections independently in some constituencies and form alliances with like-minded parties in others, party president Mahadev Jankar announced. He firmly ruled out any alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that the BJP “does not respect the Constitution of India.”

Speaking to the media at Bhavaninagar, where he attended the Elgar Melava, Jankar criticized the state government’s handling of the recent flood situation and called for a complete farm loan waiver.

“I have toured 31 districts of the state and witnessed the severe damage caused by heavy rainfall. The government’s relief package is inadequate. Farmers have suffered huge losses, and loan waivers are essential,” he said.

He reminded that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had promised loan waivers during elections but failed to deliver.

Jankar further stated that the RSP will contest 100 seats in Bihar, and the party has now received recognition in four states.

Lashing out at the BJP, he accused it of dividing society on caste lines instead of solving farmers’ issues. “Throwing a slipper at a Supreme Court judge belonging to our community — is this the culture they promote? The public must ask which party that man, Tiwari, belongs to,” he remarked.

“We were not born in palaces of power but in houses of struggle. Power may come or go, but we will change the nature of power itself,” Jankar concluded confidently.
