Acting on intelligence inputs, police conducted raids in the Kondhwa area targeting certain local suspects believed to have links with terrorist organizations.  Officials stated that some preliminary evidence supporting these suspicions has been found.

Based on the tip-off received from an informant, the police carried out raids at as many as 19 locations late last night and interrogated several suspects.The operation continued until early this morning,said officials today.
Authorities are now verifying the identities and backgrounds of those questioned and of the locations raided. Police sources confirmed that the operation is related to national security.

This is not the first time Kondhwa has come under the scanner of security agencies. In earlier incidents, individuals from outside the city planning terror attacks were arrested from the area. The police have maintained close surveillance over Kondhwa and its neighbouring areas.
