Weapons sent from Pakistan by drone in Samba district bordering India and Pakistan have been seized by a team of security forces on patrol. Security forces and intelligence agencies are investigating whether Lashkar-e-Toiba is using drones to import weapons from Pakistan.

A joint team of Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, which was on patrol on Friday morning, found the drone near the border. So the team rushed to the spot and inspected the place. They found two pistols, five magazines, 122 bullets and a silencer wrapped in a plastic bag from the drone. It has been seized by security forces.

The J&K police had on July 23 seized a 5 kg improvised explosive device (IED) from a drone found in Kanachak area of Akhnoor district. The number of drone sightings near the Indo-Pak border has increased in the last few days. The air force base in Jammu was attacked on June 27 with explosives. This is considered to be the first case in the country where drones have been used by terrorists for attacks.
