Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, who has been missing for about seven months, has arrived in Mumbai and has attend the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. Singh came to Mumbai from Chandigarh, an official said. He was declared a fugitive by the Mumbai Sessions Court. I trust the judiciary and will co-operate in the investigation as directed by the court; said Singh while talking to reporters.

Singh has been removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner after Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Waze was arrested for planting an explosive-laden vehicle near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence 'Antilia'. From the airport, Singh made a direct appearance at the Crime Branch Division 11 of the Mumbai Police. Singh's response to the ransom case filed at Goregaon police station will be recorded here. The High Court has granted Singh protection from arrest.

Singh, who is currently the director general of the Home Guard, is on the leave for illness after May 4. Mumbai Police declared Singh missing on October 20. After being removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner, Singh sent a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray accusing the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of extortion. Due to his allegations, Deshmukh had to step down as Home Minister. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deshmukh and is investigating a ransom of Rs 100 crore per month. Singh, who wrote the letter accusing Deshmukh, has also been charged with six other offenses including extortion.
