Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials said that a dolphin was found dead at Juhu Beach on Friday morning.
On Friday, some locals found dolphins carrying dead bodies on the beach in Juhu. He informed the officials of the Municipal Corporation about this. Municipal officials visited the spot and informed the forest department officials about this. The body was taken into custody by the Forest Department and autopsied and the body was disposed of.
Dead dolphins often were seen at various places on the shores of Juhu throughout the year. The body of the dolphin found today was relatively smaller than that found earlier, local corporator Renu Hansraj told reporters.
Although dolphins look like fish and live in water, they are still known as aquatic mammals.
