The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is developing a new Pune-Bengaluru Greenfield Highway to relieve congestion on the existing route. The detailed project report has been submitted to the Central Government for approval. The entire new route will span 699 km, with 206 km running through Maharashtra. This six-lane road has a target completion timeline of three years once approved by the Center.
